JCPS Equity Council questions Yearwood over Budget Cuts

Jefferson County Public Schools’ Advisory Council for Racial Equity met with Superintendent Brian Yearwood to raise concerns about how major budget cuts could impact vulnerable students and the district’s equity work. Council members questioned reductions to equity-focused programs and the level of community input in decision-making, while district leaders said the changes are part of efforts to address a significant budget shortfall.
